Lesson: The Importance of Bible Study

•Review: If this is not the first lesson in this set of curriculum, review your previous lesson and go over homework, memory verse(s), application, or any other areas of accountability.
•Main Point: The art of understanding and applying God’s Word is the Holy Spirit’s primary means of transforming us into Christ-likeness.We will cover the importance of becoming a life-long student of God’s Word.
•Session Overview: This session will look at (1) why we study God’s Word and (2) what it means to study God’s Word. *Note that this lesson is only an intro to the subject. Use the resources in the “For Further Study” section to pursue this topic further.
•Prayer: Begin by praising God for His revelation of Himself to us through His Word and ask Him to help you build a solid foundation of Bible study in your life.
•Starter: What is your current relationship to the Bible? How do you see it? Do you read it? Study it? How often and for how long? Do you understand it? Discuss your own thoughts on why it is important before beginning this study.
